We have been retained by a Private Equity firm to find 2 Controllers or CFOs for 2 construction-based companies. One is in Jacksonville, FL and the other is in the Del Ray Beach-Ft Lauderdale area. We are looking for a financial leader for these construction portfolio companies. Additionally, both companies are in acquisition mode! Hence, the CFO/Controller will gain valuable M&A (acquisition) and integration experience. Hoping candidates might already have this experience. Must have job costing/% of completion exp. More specifically, we would like to see the following experiences/skills:
- Experience as a CFO/Controller or Assistant Controller.
- Experience dealing with banks and lending institutions preferred.
- Experience coming in and assessing current systems and processes and implementing best practices.
- Licensed CPA.
- Finance Forecasting, Reporting, and Analysis.
- Systems Development.
- Standard Operating Procedure Creation.
- Experience “digging into the numbers” in order to make intelligent business recommendations.
- All standard Controller responsibilities.
- Software assessment and implementation exp.
- Acquisition and integration exp a huge plus.
Finally, this position requires an undergraduate degree, CPA license preferred, an MBA is highly preferable, and at least 2-years of experience in a senior operational and financial leadership position. Experience in construction, job costing, percentage of completion exp. Strong financial and business acumen is required. The ideal candidate has: some time in public accounting, strong financial forecasting and analysis experience, strong experience using Excel and Quickbooks (i.e. data extraction, manipulation, and analysis), experience in a multisite business, experience helping develop 3–5 year business and financial plans, a very analytical mindset, a strong intellectual curiosity, a strong bias for systems and process formulation and adherence, has led a small team but leads by doing, and, finally, if he/she has any experience in private equity that would be of great benefit. This is a full-time position and available immediately. Compensation will be a competitive, market package consisting of a base salary and incentive-based bonus.
